Before the break.

I was down to 148.2 this morning and Tom is at 215.4.  Tom has been losing so well we have lowered his goal weight for this round.  I think he can make it to 190 after our break.  Our original guess was 205.  I want to get to 145 and Tom to 210 before we start our break in 6 days.  We have been enjoying turkey burgers with great success. They have them at Trader Joe's there are 4 and they cost $4.00.  They are only 180 calories and they are so YUMMY.  Tonight is chicken, green beans, orange juice and a breadstick.

100 HCG Phase 3 Foods

I found this on http://www.healthyhcg.com/  and wanted to share this with everyone.  Phase 3 can be very confusing and you don't want to hurt all the hard work that you have done.  This article spells out very will what is allowed and what is not.

Phase 3 of the HCG diet, which we call the stabilization phase, opens up all sorts of new food options. You're done with the 500-calorie phase and the HCG drops, and your calorie restrictions have been lifted. The only things you can't eat now are sugar and starch—but after the strict rules of the 500-calorie phase of the HCG diet, many people still worry about what exactly they can eat.

So here are 100 new foods you can eat during the stabilization phase of the HCG diet. A whole new world of food awaits on phase 3!

Meat
Meat lovers can finally let loose on phase 3 and enjoy some of their favorites again. Consider branching out to celebrate all your lost weight—try some liver, venison, or a rare sausage and see if you like it. Some of these items, like bacon and hot dogs, have a very high fat content, so be careful with those!

1. Bacon
2. Beef jerky
3. Beef roast
4. Breakfast sausage
5. Elk
6. Ground beef
7. Ham
8. Hot dogs
9. Lamb
10. Liver
11. Pork chops
12. Prosciutto
13. Venison
14. Vienna sausage

Fish
Fish fans already had the best variety during the 500-calorie phase of the HCG diet. Phase 3 gives them even more choices. The list could go on and on and on, but we've limited it to just a few representatives. Protein already takes up a whole third of this list. Don't be greedy. There are vegetables and fruits still to consider!

15. Anchovy
16. Bass
17. Catfish
18. Clams
19. Eel
20. Herring
21. Mackerel
22. Mahimahi
23. Mussels
24. Oysters
25. Salmon
26. Sardines
27. Squid or calamari
28. Trout
29. Tuna

Poultry
If you're not a fish fan you might have had a hard time on the HCG diet. If you feel you'll die at the thought of eating more chicken, you now have several more poultry options at your disposal on phase 3.

30. Duck
31. Goose
32. Pheasant
33. Turkey

Other Protein Sources
Your protein options aren't limited to just meat anymore! Nuts make an especially good snack food on phase 3. Unfortunately, beans are still off limits due to their high starch content, but vegetarians can try them with care.

34. Hummus (check ingredients)
35. Nuts of all types, including almonds, brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, peanuts, pine nuts, and pistachios for just a few examples
36. Soy
37. Tofu

Vegetables
There's an absolutely gigantic world of vegetables waiting to be explored during the stabilization phase of the HCG diet. Some popular options such as corn and potatoes have been left out due to high starch or carb content. You might still get away with them if you're very careful about it—eat them in small quantities and monitor your weight each day. But there are so many other choices during phase 3—why not try something new?

38. Bamboo shoots
39. Bean sprouts
40. Bok Choy
41. Broccoli
42. Brussels sprouts
43. Cauliflower
44. Eggplant
45. Green beans
46. Kohlrabi
47. Jalapeno peppers
48. Mushrooms
49. Okra
50. Pickles
51. Pumpkin
52. Radishes
53. Red chili pepper
54. Sauerkraut
55. Scallions
56. Snow peas (pods)
57. Spaghetti squash
58. Summer squash
59. Sweet bell peppers (green, red, or yellow)
60. Turnips
61. Watercress
62. Zucchini

Fruits
Now is the time to indulge in fruits. Like the vegetables, some fruits are still iffy for the stabilization phase. Dr. Simeons warns against very sweet fruits, so you won't find popular choices like bananas or grapes here. As with starchy veggies, you could still try sugary fruits while exercising restraint and care.

63. Apricots
64. Blackberries
65. Blueberries
66. Cantaloupe
67. Coconut (unsweetened)
68. Cranberries, fresh or dried
69. Figs, one large—careful of sugar content
70. Guava
71. Honeydew
72. Kiwi
73. Lemons
74. Limes
75. Nectarines
76. Olives
77. Papaya
78. Peaches
79. Pears
80. Pineapple
81. Plums
82. Raspberries
83. Watermelon

Dairy
Huzzah! Dairy of all kinds is finally allowed during phase 3 of the HCG diet. The main thing to beware of is added sugar. Of course, it's always a good idea to go for fat-free or reduced-fat options.

84. Butter (in moderation, of course)
85. Cheese, including both hard and soft cheeses like American, brie, cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, provolone, string cheese, and Swiss
86. Cottage cheese
87. Cream cheese
88. Eggs—boiled, fried, poached, scrambled, deviled, etc.
89. Milk
90. Omelette
91. Yogurt (sugar-free)

Other
The stabilization phase unlocks a whole new world of food options. Here are a few odds and ends to really spice up your HCG diet on phase 3.

92. Alcoholic beverages in moderation—Dr. Simeons mentions a glass of wine with a meal, for example
93. Dried soy beans
94. Fruit juices with no added sugar, and watch portion sizes to limit sugar intake
95. Mayonnaise (check label for sugar)
96. Oils for cooking or baking
97. Pure peanut butter, other nut butters (sugar-free)
98. Sugar-free dressings and mustards
99. Taco salad, without the tortilla product
100. Veggie dip: combine plain non-fat yogurt with ranch or onion seasoning mix—check seasonings for sugar

25 Foods To Be Careful With
But wait, where are such healthy staples as carrots, peas, and grapes? Dr. Simeons says the following about the 3-week stabilization phase of the HCG diet:

"If no carbohydrates whatsoever are eaten, fats can be indulged in somewhat more liberally . . . but as soon as fat and starch are combined things are very liable to get out of hand."

"All foods allowed except starch and sugar in any form (careful with very sweet fruit)."

The following foods have a high starch or sugar content. While not forbidden per se, they may violate Dr. Simeons' rules, especially if you're increasing your fat content at all. Introduce these foods only in small quantities—if at all—with careful attention to your morning weighing.

Protein
1. Beans, including black, garbanzo, kidney, fava, lentils, lima, pinto, and white

Vegetables
2. Artichoke, medium
3. Avocado
4. Beets
5. Butternut squash
6. Carrots
7. Celeriac
8. Corn
9. Leeks
10. Parsnips
11. Peas
12. Plantains
13. Potato, one small
14. Sweet potatoes
15. Water chestnuts
16. Yams

Fruits
17. Banana, medium
18. Cherries
19. Date, one
20. Grapes
21. Mangos
22. Pomegranate
23. Prunes
24. Raisins (1.5 oz)
25. Tangerines

Planned Intermission From Phase 2

With the holidays quickly approaching I am getting antsy for some comfort foods.  I am planning on doing a planned break/intermission from Phase 2.  I had to do a lot of research on this and this is what I have gathered.

-Not to be done until at least 20 days into the Very Low Calorie Days.

-Stop taking HCG 48 hours before when on drops and 72 hours before when on injections.

-Continue eating VLCD for 48 hours or 72 hours after last dose of HCG.

-Eat only Phase 3 foods.  - I will post foods later.

-There are 2 ways to control weight gain.  You can either address the weight right away and have a steak day the day that you are 2 pounds over you lowest weight in.  Or you can wait and have a steak day the first day back on HCG.  Or you can skip this all together.

-The planned break should be less then 2 weeks.  If it is less then 2 weeks then there is no need to reload.  Some people choose to eat a little more fatty foods before going back on HCG.  This would be a little more cheese, avocado, and carrots for instance.

Here is how mine will work.  I will be stopping my drops on the 20th, I will then eat VLCD on the 21 and the 22nd.  I will only eat Phase 3 foods for the break.  I will have a steak day if I am more then  pounds over my lowest weight in.  I will eat a few on the fatter phase 3 foods on the 1st.  I will resume my HCG and VLCD on the 2nd.

VLC#6 Homeopathic HCG Drops Information

Today was another loss.  I have had a -0.6 loss for the last to days.  I have been sticking to the diet to a T and had fish last night for dinner.  I did have a diet soda and I think that is where the slow loss comes from.  Tonight I am not going to have one and hope for a HUGE loss tomorrow to make up for the two slow ones.  I am also going to have chicken for dinner instead for steak like we normally do.  I feel great now and have no headaches or aches.

Here is some info on the type of Homeopathic Drops that we used last round and this round.
From HCGinfo.com and http://hcgdietjourney.com/hcg-online-shop

What is ?

In 2007 the release of The Weight Loss Cure by Kevin Trudeau started a resurgence of the hCG diet first discovered by Dr. A.T.W Simeons nearly 50 years ago and used to treat obesity in men and women. Dr. Simeons treated obesity with daily injections of the naturally occurring hormone found in pregnant women called Human chorionic gonadotropin which contains over 220 amino acids, in a dosage range of 125-175 iu. Kevin Trudeau also called for daily injections of the naturally occurring hormone in his book but at a wider dosage range, 125-200 iu’s.

As the hCG diet became more popular and used more widely, potential hCG dieters did not want to do daily injections of hCG out of fear of needles, or were unsure about the safety of buying hCG online. All good reason to spark the need and demand for oral hCG.
However, the need for a real oral hCG product for weight loss also sparked the demand in the homeopathic market to try and capitalize on the high demand and needs of the hCG dieter.
But are marketers capitalizing by offering you a equally equivalent product? Are they capitalizing on the lack of understanding of homeopathic medicine? What are you getting when you buy homeopathic hCG? Are you getting hCG? And what exactly do those numbers mean on the label of hCG?

Understanding Homeopathy
Homeopathic medicine is very old practice of medicine that dates back to the early 1700’s. Homeopathy believes that the disease symptoms can be cured by diluting the medicine thus curing the illness or disease.
The original hCG diet calls for 125-175 iu of hCG, Kevin Trudeau increased that to a maximum of 200 iu, yet Homeopathic hCG dilutes the dosage. Okay so then you just take more right? Well let’s look at the label and see how much you would have to take to get the equivalent to what the manuscript Pounds and Inches or The Weight Loss Cure recommends for a therapeutic level for fat loss by using hCG.

The Homeopathic hCG Label
The majority of the Homeopathic hCG sold 6X (1/1,000,000), 12X(1/1,000,000,000,000), 30X (1/1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000). These numbers express how many times the hCG was diluted
Using the highest strength of hCG, 10,000 iu and the smallest expression 6x (6/1,000,000) you will have 0.0000000006 iu of hCG in your entire bottle of Homeopathic hCG.
This bears repeating for clear understanding, NOT 0.0000000006 iu hCG per drop but 0.0000000006 iu per 2 ounce bottle.
The correct minimum therapeutic hCG for weight loss is 125 iu per day.

VLC#3 - TAKE TWO!

Once again I am on VLC#3.  We have been off the diet since April and have both maintained our weight within 3 pounds.  This is barely working on a phase 3 or 4.  We pretty much went back to eating what we were before even the fast food.  I think I could have lost more by watching my eating habits.

Tom and I started the diet on Thanksgiving Day with a 3 day load.  We were on the road and had to add an extra day.  We started the Very Low Calorie Diet on Saturday, November 26th.  My weight before starting the diet was 156.2.  After loading for 3 days my weight was up to 161.2!  ARR!  Today is our 3rd day on the diet and weight was 159.2.  I can't wait to start losing my REAL weight not these extra pounds I put on. We are going to be doing a shot round and will be finishing on December 30th, just in time for the New Year!

On another note, I am working on getting the blog in order so you can easily navigate to the things that interest you. Ta-Ta for now!

VLCD#3

Down to 153.4 today that is another 1.8 pounds!  I am feeling good, no headaches like the first round.  Last night I had lobster, asparagus and orange juice.  I like orange juice sometimes because it is easy and quick.  One glass is 86 calories.  My sister is doing really well also and has lost almost 5 pounds!  I love this diet and love losing.  Can't wait to be in a bikini this summer.  :]

VLCD#2

Day 2 and happy to report that I had a -2.8 loss this morning.  Started the diet yesterday after loading at 158.  Today's weight in was 155.2.  I had an extra hard boiled egg yesterday and a pickle.  I was pretty hungry in the evening but it wasn't uncontrollable.  I hope for another big loss today and get back to my starting weight tomorrow so I can start losing real weight.

Round 2

I am so happy to report that I am starting the Round #2 on Friday.  Since Tom lost over 30 pounds in the first round and is continuing to lose, he will not be doing another round.  My sister will be joining me this time!  :)  We are going to load on Friday, April 22nd and Saturday the 23rd.  I am going to try to update this as much as possible with what I am eating through out the day and what my daily weight in and loses are.
I have still been holding steady at 154.  One pound over my lowest weight in.  I would love some comments if anyone else is loading around the same time.

Ranch Dressing Phase 2 VLCD

I found this on a forum I belong to and have to share.  I haven't tried it yet but it sounds delicious!

Lowfat/ Fat Free Cottage Cheese into the blender (I used my magic bullet) with a little bit of milk, some Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, and parsley flakes, dill and a generous pinch of salt. (Play with the spices, til you get it how you like it)
Blend until smooth - add some water or chicken broth to get it to your desired consistency.

After Vegas!

Many of you know that the only reason we did the diet was to look better for our trip to Vegas.  Well the trip is over, Vegas was a lot of fun and a lot of good eats.  I am happy to say that I am still within my +-2 of my last weigh in.  I have done nothing special.  I did not do a phase 2 or a phase 3.  Just eating what I want within reason, which is how I ate before.  We plan on starting another full 46 day round here is the next week.  Right now we are still enjoying the yummy foods.

Here are some pictures of us in Vegas!  Wish is was nice weather cause I got the cutest bikini! :)

Round 2

I just started my second round.  We finished the 1st last Friday on the 25th.  I lost a total of 17 and Tom lost 30 pounds.  Most people are advised to finish phase 2 and 3 completely before starting another round, but I have zero patients for such things.  I want this weight off!!
We were off the diet and just ate well over the weekend, we then had our loading days Tuesday and Wednesday.  I gained 3 pounds loading or course Tom only gained .5 pounds.   I am hoping to lost 6.6 pounds this first week and be in the 140's by next Thursday when we leave for Vegas!  I am very happy with the first round considering the rogue diet that we choose and some of the drinking that we did.

I changed to ticker at the top to reflect the total loss that I want from completing all the rounds.  I want to be back to 125.  That was my pre-pregnancy weight.  It puts me at a size 4/6.  After completing the first round I went from a size 14 to a size 10.  I will post some more 'after' pictures from of trip to Vegas.

Amazing Italian Wedding Soup

We just had the most amazing Italian Wedding soup.  I must share the recipe ASAP!
First we made meatballs out of 97% lean ground beef
One Egg
Little Onion
1 package onion soup mix ( I used lipton, I had it laying around)
Parsley or other seasoning.
2 malba toasts
Tom made the meatballs then pan seared them, then in the oven for 20 mins.

While he did that I made the soup.
Sweat onion and garlic in 1 cup no fat chicken broth.
After these start sweating add couple handfuls of spinach, cook off most broth as the spinach cooks.
Add the rest of the broth and seasoning, Salt, Pepper, ya know?
When the meatballs are done add them and a package of Miracle Noodles for about 10 mins till boiling.
I crushed up my meatball but Tom ate his whole, either was = SO YUMMY!

VLCD#30

We have 12 days left.  Hard to believe that this part of the diet is almost over!  We did our measurements this morning, I have lost 6 inches total this week.  Tom has lost 4 inches. This makes the total inches lost so far......
Skyla = 13 inches     Tom= 16 1/2 inches  WOW!

Slamming the diet

http://fatlosschronicles.blogspot.com/

I come across this dieter on the internet that is slamming the results.  She only lost 9 inches, I lost 4.5 last week, crazy huh?  She is saying that the diet was taking away her lean muscle....  First, she isn't even fallowing the diet right, she is having more one day then less the next.  She is adding more protein some days and cottage cheese like it's going out of style...  Lol

Good Loading Gorging

Since I haven't been losing the doctor suggested that I have another loading day to revamp my metabolism.   A good rule of thumb is to try to hit 5000 calories.  WOW!  Sound easier then it is, here is a list of everything I ate.

One Slice of Pepperoni Pizza
2 Fish and cheese sandwiches from White Castle
and a French Fry from there
Bag of BBQ chips
Bag of Doritos
M&M's peanut
An Amp energy drink
Baja Blast from Taco Bell
Fried Chicken from KFC
Cole Staw
Green beans
Mash Potatoes (All from KFC)

I wish I could have got more it, but I just couldn't.  This was only around 3000 calories.  LAME!  Lol
Hope this work and I start losing tomorrow!

Eating Out on HCG | HCG Guru

I have a couple tips for when you are out and about and need to eat.  You must be very careful with this though, because almost every fast food place adds sugar to EVERYTHING!

Chipotle - Fajita Veggies (20 Calories), Barbacoa (It's very lean at 170 Calories)Do not get the chicken - It's dark meat or steak -It's not lean, Tomato Salsa (20 Calories), Green Tomatillo Salsa (15 Calores) and Lettuce(10 Calories)  Total: 235

Burger King - The Tendergrill chicken salad, remove cheese and get lite dressing and only use very little.  Total:220

Arby's - Arby's Roast Beef with no bread (I usually just ask for 3 oz, I think this is the regular sandwich)  Total: 143

Wendy's - Small sized Chili - DO NOT eat the beans.  Total: 170
Garden side salad, remove carrots, half a packet of Fat Free French Dressing Total:90

I have also had success (losses) with Windy's chicken patty with lettuce and tomato, no bun or condiments.

Revamping my Metabolism

I know this is rogue but I have had a very slow last 10 days, I have gone up and down around the same 2 pounds. I went in to see my doctor today and he suggested that I have a major cheap day and cram calories tomorrow, then go back on the 500 diet following.  He said this would revamp my metabolism back into losing mode. I has TOM (Time of Month, Lol) on the 12 day and I think it just totally mussed up the whole diet. I hope this works! I'll keep you guys posted on the results.

Steak Day!

As you know I have been stalling all week.  I wanted to give the diet a kick start back into gear.  I decided to do a "Steak Day" right in the middle of phase 2.  Now usually Steak Days are only for phase 3 as a way of maintaining the weight from phase 2.  I thought this would work, I mean what do I have to lose?  Well it worked!  I was down 1.5 pounds this morning!  Tom was also down 1.5.  :]

We drank normal all day then had an 8 oz steak with a large tomato.  You can have an apple instead.  I was very hard to get down the 8 oz when we are used to eating the 4oz.  Glad it worked!

Pounds and Inches Autobook

http://reviews.pharmacyescrow.com/si...audio-book.mp3
Here is the original break down of the diet from Pounds and Inches written by Dr. Simeons on Autobook.

These are the ONLY approved foods from the original protocol.  I also included the calories so you can get the calories count, then you need to fill the rest of the 500 calories with veggies! ~ This is not the exact diet that I am following, mine has more foods, which I have listed in a previous post.

FRUIT: one fruit per meal; do not mix
Apple: medium = 95
Grapefruit: ½ = 44
Orange: large = 86
Strawberries: 10 medium: = 40

STARCH:
Melba Toast: 1 = 20
Melba Snack: 2 = 24
Grissini Breadstick: 1 = 20

MEAT: 100 grams - 3 ½ ounces; all visible fat removed; weighed raw; cook with no oil or fat:
Chicken Breast: = 110
Ground Beef: 95% lean = 137
Steak: (round/sirloin tip) = 142
Crab: = 84
Halibut: 110
Cod = 110
Flounder: 91
Tilapia: 96
Lobster: = 90
Shrimp: = 106
Veal: = 112

VEGETABLES: measured raw; one vegetable per meal; do not mix; ADJUST the serving sizes to fit your 500 calories per day!
Asparagus: 10 medium spears = 30
Beet-Greens: 3 cups = 24

*The protein is lean meaning it has the least amount of fat available. This allows your body to burn its own fat rather than having to deal with the fat in your bloodstream.

*The vegetables are all less that 8 kCal an oz and have an incredible amount of fiber in them for the volume. they are also rich in the essential minerals one needs to maintain metabolism.

*The fruits are extremely beneficial in antioxidants and enzymes which allows the body to continue to flush toxins

HCG Diet App

OMG! There's an app for that!  I wish I would have had this app from the beginning of the diet.  HCG Diet App.  It has a list of what you can it in each phase and how much. You just type in the name and it give you all the info. You can add it keeps track of your measurements, pictures, and water intake. Tells you when you need to take a steak day in P3 and has a count down of each phase. Also includes nice graphs do you can she how the scale looks.  What a wonderful app!  The only draw back is that it runs 12 bucks.  But I think it might be worth it.

How to break a STALL! Phase 2

From the last post you can see I have been stalling all week.  Tom lost another 3 pounds today!  Not fair!  Measures must be taken.  Here are all the stall breakers I found online.  I am going to do a steak day, because I love steak....

Apple Day

Apple day consists of eating nothing but apples for one day. You eat 6 large apples and drink water all day. That’s it. No other fruit, no vegetables, or protein.

Steak Day

Drink plenty of water. In the evening, eat a huge steak with only an apple or a raw tomato.

Herbal Teas

Dr. Simeons suggests a diuretic. That may be a bit drastic and if you are not under a doctor’s supervision, may be hard to get. Some herbal teas act as natural diuretics and will produce the same desired effect, the release of water. You can get a list of the hCG diet teas and their benefits that Kevin Trudeau recommends by click here: hCG Diet Tea
• Cornsilk Tea
• Green Tea
• Dandelion Tea
• Fennel Tea
• Parsley Tea
You can add more tea to your hCG diet, or do a fast with tea. Parsley Tea in particular is a very powerful natural diuretic. It contains vitamins A and C, and has more beta-carotene than a large carrot. A cup of minced parsley has more vitamin C than eating 2 oranges. And a cup of minced parsley has more calcium than a cup of milk and 20 times as much iron as liver. Parsley is also a natural breath freshener, thanks to chlorophyll contained in parsley.

Diuretic Foods & Seasonings

These foods listed are not only natural diuretics, but are hCG diet friendly foods. You may want to change your hCG diet menu after a stall, by incorporating these foods.
• Apple Cider Vinegar – great for a salad dressing
• Asparagus – improves waste removal
• Cabbage breaks up fatty deposits, especially around abs
• Lettuce – aids in metabolism and flushes toxins
• Tomatoes – aids in metabolism, release water and flushes waste
• Garlic – aids in breakage of fat
• Horseradish – aids in metabolism, breakage of fat
• Caffeine – aids in waste removal and suppresses appetite

HCG Diet Stall Tips

• Weigh your food raw/uncooked. 100 grams of meat should be weighed raw, not cooked.
• Refocus your diet, re-read the manuscript, and make sure you are having foods in the right amounts.
• Do not eat more than 1 kind of fruit a day.
• Do not eat more than 1 kind of vegetable in a day.
• Discontinue the breadsticks or Melba toast.
• Decrease or discontinue use of artificial sweeteners (AS).
• Increase Water intake. Water is another natural diuretic that is often neglected. Drink 2 liters or more a day.
• Decrease excess salt. Diet soda is a double culprit with AS and sodium. Try making your own hCG diet soda to control sodium and sweetener.
• Exercise — heavy exercise can cause water retention; walking, T-Tapp, Yoga and Pilates are good lighter exercises. Weight Training, Cycling; or Running may be too much while on the 500-calorie hCG diet and cause water retention • Make sure you measure your body, as well as hitting the scales. If you have stopped losing, the inches may be coming off.
• Use Miracle Noodles to break a hCG diet stall.

GRRR! This week!

This week has been very hard!   I am sad to report that my total loss for the whole week is only -1.2.  The week has been up and down and up. GRRR! Here is the results.

VLCD#14 160.8
VLCD#15 161.4 (+.6)
VLCD#16 161.4 (-+.0)
VLCD#17 159.8 (-1.6)
VLCD#18 159.8 (-+.0)
VLCD#19 160.4 (+.6)
VLCD#20 159.6 (-.8)

LAME! I am happy that I am in the 150's but I was hoping to be 155 by now. I don't understand why the scale is teasing me so bad in this border.  Tom is almost 20 pounds down, and we are eating just about the same things everyday.  I know that I am not over doing my calories because yesterday all I had was a chicken spinach salad for lunch and a lobster tail, couple bites of cauliflower and a breadstick for dinner.  No fruit all day and only one bread.  Something has to give. Lol.  I hope this next week is better.

Spaghetti

Going to try a Spaghetti tomorrow night.  Here is what I am thinking.  100 g lean ground beef made into a meatballs, 1/4 tomato paste with water, garlic, onion powder, Italian seasoning, cayenne pepper, and a couple drops of stevia. Of course they will be made with Miracle Noodles!  I guess these will take on the flavor of whatever they are cooked in.  Yummy!

Weight Gain

I have been so sick...  I have had headaches everyday for 2 months.  Yesterday was the worst one  yet, the meds that the Dr put me on make it so I am not even close to being hungry.  I had nothing to eat yesterday.... And still gained.  I gained .6 how is this possible?  I don't think I even ate this much yesterday?

At this weeks weight in at the Dr office, I have lost 4.5 inches off my belly in ONE week!  My beginning jeans size was 14 and I am now wearing an 11.  Tom is down 2 notches in his belt.  His jeans are hanging on him.  :]

I love this diet!

Stuffed Peppers | HCG Guru

I have been waiting to do this recipe all week and tonight I COOK!  Lol.  I am up .6 this morning and I am sure it was because I had an extra 3 oz of mystery beef yesterday.  I thought because I was walking so much I would be ok.  OOPS!  I was wrong.  I also don't think I had enough water which I am finding makes a HUGE difference in lose for the morning.

Bison Stuffed Peppers (Makes 4 servings)
½ medium yellow onion
chopped 1 large or 2 small zucchini
seeded and chopped 4 bell peppers
15 oz lean ground beef, turkey, venison, or bison (Be sure to rinse your meat with hot water after browning.)
5 large button mushrooms (100g) (If you like...)
2 cloves garlic
1/8 tsp basil
½ tsp oregano
1- 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes - drain  (Or a large Tomato.)
4 grissini breadsticks
2 tablespoons worstershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste

Cut top ¼ of the peppers. (save for another use like salad) Trim bottom so it will sit flat. Clean out inside of pepper. Boil in stock pot of water for 10 minutes to soften. Remove and set aside. Preheat oven to 350. Sautee onion, mushrooms, zucchini, and garlic in a pan till soft. (I use water to sauté, fat free chicken stock will also work.) Add in salt to taste, oregano, basil, and tomatoes. Simmer till hot. Puree half in a blender, food processor, or immersion blender. Cook ground meat with pepper till browned. Drain and rinse under hot water to remove any extra fats. Rinse out pan, too. Add meat to veggie mix and add in worstershire sauce. Salt to taste and simmer for a few minutes. Add in crackers and mix well. Separate into 4 sections and put one section each into each pepper. A spring loaded ice cream scoop works well. Cover with foil and cook for 30 minutes. Remove foil and cook another 5-10 minutes. Serve with a yummy salad! I made this recipe with bison, and it was 297 calories per serving.

HCG Support Forum

I love this diet; I want to make sure everyone I recommend the diet to loves it as much as me.  I want to share this support forum to everyone that views this blog.
http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums/forum.php   This forum shows that there are many more people out there like me that love the diet and are loving the results.

Dr. OZ  recently did a segment on the diet.  There is even speculation that Dr. Oz's wife lose weight thanks to the HCG diet. I feel like he missed a lot of important information that is covered in this forum.  It is so fun to see everyone's tickers and weight lose.  Some people have lost over a hundred pounds!

Lunch on Protocol

Lunch was exactly on protocol.  I showed no weight lose this morning, Tom showed a one pound lose.  This is 100g Lean Steak, 100g Spinach, 100g Strawberries, and one Mebla Toast.  Lots of water and a cup of coffee.
I can't wait to cook dinner - I am making stuffed peppers.  Yummy!  I will post the recipe later.
Tom said that his goal is to be 240 at our next weight in on Monday.  That is 5 pounds in 4 days.  I would like to be 157.  Cross your fingers.

The Diet

Here is a simple run down of the diet I found online.  The diet that we are doing allows for more and different foods.  You can see the list of our approved food below.  Our diet also allows for "Free" veggies which the original does not.  Although I have been trying to adhere to this list more so I can maximize the weight loss.  I have also been skipping my apple/ fruit.  But we are going to get grapefruits tomorrow and I will try that.

HCG Diet Phase 2 Eating Plan

Breakfast: Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. One tablespoonful of milk per day. Saccharin or Stevia may be used as sweeteners.

Lunch: 3.5 oz (100g) weighed raw of veal, beef, chicken breast without bone, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp with all visible fat removed. No additional fat or sprays can be used to boil or grill food.
Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed.
Vegetable: One choice from Asparagus, onions, tomatoes, spinach, celery, cucumbers, cabbage, green salad, chard, chicory, beet-greens, fennel, or red radishes.
Fruit: One choice of an apple, orange, handful of strawberries or 1/2 of a grapefruit.
Breads: One bread stick (grissino) or one Melba toast (20 calorie variety).

No more than four items listed for lunch or dinner may be eaten at one meal.

Drinks: 2 liters minimum per day. Coffee, tea, water or mineral water in any quantity.
Dinner: Same choices as lunch, but vary your choices to create variety.

Cheating.

Well the inevitable happened last night.  Tom and I both cheated.  I went to play poker, my favorite pass time.  I had a salad and lots of water.  I had two drinks (Vodka and a Bud Select (I think it had 64 calories?)).  When I return home Tom told me he had cheated and he had 2 pieces of peanut butter toast.  Lol  He loves bread.  Anyways I send him to..... White Castle!  I love White Castle.  By far my favorite fast food place.  I had a fish sandwich and a cheeseburger.  Yum!  Cheese!
Anyways, Tom just steps on the scale and was sad to note he had gained one pound.  I'm scared to step on, because I know I will be up.  Here goes nothing --- 162.2  HA! Down another pound.  Funny cause I was telling Tom last night that I was going to be so mad if he still lost weight and I gained.  I guess the opposite is true. Well we'll see what tomorrow brings, because I know that sometimes it can take 2 days to hit.

Weight-Loss Controversy: HCG Diet, Pt 1.

Imagine losing a pound a day and never feeling hungry. Those that have had success with it believe it’s the long-awaited miracle cure for weight...

HCG on DR. OZ

 http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/weight-loss-controversy-hcg-diet-pt-1

Placebo?! Lol you have got to kidding me! How is it that I am not hungry throughout the day with only 500 calories. What about my hubby who is a 6'1 160 while starting. We were working out right before starting and he has a lot of muscle. I know he was eating over 2500 calories a day and he never complained of being hungry once. I guessing there are a lot of doctors out there that don't want to say that Homeopathic work, cause they would lose money. I also used homeopathic to put me into labor with my 2nd.

Tricks for Beating Sweet and Salty Cravings.

Tricks I have found for beating the sweet and salty creavings without cheating.

- Sugar Free Jello (Watch the calories and only with meals)
- Flavored Water
- Flavored Tea
- Sugar Free Gum
- Sugar Free Popsicles
- 3 Celery sticks with Salt
- Diet Soda is ok but only like one a day, like I said earlier it can make you retain water weight. For every soda I have I add an extra 8 oz of water.
- Stevia brand sweetener.

Everything much be with 0 calories!

ChiroHCG

Here is a link to the actual HCG diet that we are using.  We go to the local Chiropractors office around the corner.  He has had over 500 clients do the program since he started carrying it just 6 months ago.    Here is a link to the place we go, http://www.columbiahcgweightloss.com/index.html

Here is the main website for the ChiroHCG diet. http://www.chirohcg.com/

There are Many MANY different variations to the original Pounds and Inches I think that it is important to find one that you can stick too and one that fit your life, and your goals.

Truly FREE Foods

I thought I would compose a list of Truly FREE Foods that will work on this diet.  These still have to be eaten during your lunch or dinner for maximum weight loss.  But I still had success in the beginning munching on these at my late night cravings.

Miracle Noodles - You can find these close to the organic section in the grocery store.  We had to ask, but luckily he know just what we were talking about.  They com in a bag with a liquid substance mixed with them.  Basically you drain the fluid and cook for about a minute like you would roman noodles.  They are fantastic for your carb cravings!  They are 100% FREE, there is nothing in them at all.

Weldon Farm is the brand name, and they make no fat, no carbs, no calorie dressings and Mayo.  Yummy for adding to chicken breast to liven them up!

Fake butter, now you have to be careful here because part of the reason for this diet is to get rid of the 'taste' for fat.  Never the less, there is a 0 calorie "I Can't Believe it's Not Butter", and a 0 calorie Parkey.  Again I would only use these sparingly.

Stevia brand is the sweetener that we use.  Taste just the same to me.  You can find this also at the Organic store or area at the local store.

If there are anymore that you know of please leave a comment!  Thanks!

Maximizing Weight Loss

Tom is losing weight like crazy!  He is down another pound and a half, I jealous, I wish I was losing weight as rapidly.  I only lost a half pound. (Still great if you consider I'm still losing a least a half pound a day!) I know that men lose weight faster because they have more muscle which burns the fat off faster.  Reading online I see that I should have waited to start the diet until after I had finished my 'monthly friend.'  Womp Womp! It has to be all the water weight that is sticking around.....  :]

When we were at the Doc office yesterday he included a sheet with tips to Maximize Weight Loss, these tips will also work if you have hit a ' Plateaus'.  These include:

- Drink at least 80-100 ounces of water per day

- Trick - Eliminate the bread or fruit component from your meals and increase protein slightly for a few days.
- Make sure you are not having more then one apple a day
- Try this - Eat only 6 -6.5 oz of meat with your water only at lunch and dinner with nothing else for 2 days
- Double check (I triple check!) the foods and make sure you are not accidentally cheating! -- I had this happen just this week with Bouillon cubes that I was cooking with and making my Miracle Noodles in.
- If you think you are retaining water, eat more water based veggies.  They are a natural diuretic effect.

Vodka and HCG

Tom just finished his final and after a long week without drink he wanted a drink.  Of course me being the cautious one I wanted to look and see if it was okey first.   What I found is that Vodka is the best alcohol to have on the diet and that diet soda will make you retain water, and blow up like balloon.

Because Tom is losing more then me I am only going to have 2 shots, and Tom is going to have 3.  Here is a delishious mixed drink that I found. I am going to call it the Orange Skinny.

My recipe calls for strawberries but you can substitute orange if you prefer. You could even combine the two for an extra summery cocktail. Just use half an orange, 3 muddled strawberries, and continue recipe.
4 large Strawberries
1 Orange (optional)
1/2 lemon (optional)
1 oz high quality vodka
shaker with strainer
fork (for muddling in shaker)
handful of ice
4 packets of truvia
2 1/2 tablespoons water (rough estimate)
Mint sprig for garnish
Chilled martini glass
Muddle about four strawberries OR squeeze the juice of one orange (strawberries are recommended), into a shaker that has a strainer. Add ice, vodka (between one and two shots, I prefer to use one per serving) and as much simple syrup (see recipe below) as you need to satisfy your fruity cocktail sweet tooth. If you want something tart, add a squeeze of lemon to the strawberry mixture. Shake the cocktail and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with mint sprig and enjoy.
(I didn't do this bottom part, but maybe you will?)
HCG friendly simple syrup:
Mix water with Truvia and heat on the stove on low. When mixture begins to bubble, remove it from heat. This is your simple syrup mixture. Add a little at a time to the cocktail because Truvia is sweeter than sugar.
Please enjoy this recipe!

Cycling

I found this online and had to share it.  Sounds very interesting for someone that has a lot of weight to lose.  It does state that you should not try cycling unless you have completed a full cycle, including all the maintenance days.

Traditional P2 & P3

The length of a traditional P2 is a minimum of 23 days also known as a short round. Days 1 and 2 are loading days followed by days 3 through 23 of VLCD (very low calorie diet) during which time you are taking hcg. After this point you stop the hcg, but continue with the VLCD for 72 hours if taking Rx hcg, or 48 hours if taking homeopathic hcg, before you start the P3 break.

The length of a traditional P3 is 21 days. During this time, you may eat anything you wish except sugar and starches. You will be stabilizing during this phase. At any point you go over 2 pounds of your LIW (or LDW), you must do a steak day the next day to drop your weight back down within the 2 pound range.

Non-Traditional P2 & P3

Cycling can be modified to fit what works for you. For example, a 2 week /1 week round looks like this:

  • 2 weeks of P2: day 1 = first injection and load day followed by 13 days of VLCD
  • Continue VLCD for 72 hours with no injections - days 15-18
  • 4 days of P3 - days 19-21
  • Cycle back to P2
While cycling, I typically load by eating P3 foods (aka a Mini-Load) and don‘t restrict the amounts; however, I don‘t do a traditional load day wherein I eat any and all foods to capacity and then some. I only load one day at the most. Some people do the traditional 2 load days and eat everything they wish, but realize if you do this, you will have to use extra days of your P2 to lose the load weight.

The key is to pay attention to your body to know what works for you. One thing you must know is this: cycling is not a way to lose more weight in a shorter amount of time. Your losses will not be greater, so if that is your objective for trying cycling, you will be disappointed. Keep in mind when doing shorter rounds, any cheat will effect the result of your round so staying on protocol is imperative because there are not extra days to recover from the cheat. Of course, you can always extend the round if you wish, but then you're likely doing a full P2.

It is recommended that before cycling, a dieter should do a complete round (P2, P3 & P4) before cycling (see Pounds and Inches for pertinent data--at the very least, you should do a full 23 days the first time). Also the last round should be a complete round as well. There are those who have been successful cycling without ever doing a P4 until their last round--this is a decision you will have to make after weighing the facts.

Although similar, cycling is not the same as a “planned interruption” as described in Pounds and Inches. A planned interruption still assumes the dieter will continue to complete a full round including P4.

A final word… cycling is not protocol and it does not work for everyone. You will read arguments both for and against cycling--at this time, there is no definitive information to know the long-term results. Again, it is a personal choice and doing your due diligence is strongly suggested.

First Check In

Today we had our first weight in at the Doctors office.  Tom is down 10 pounds in one week, I only showed a 5 pound difference even though I have really lost almost 8 already.  This is first week!  Tom has lost 5 inches total and I have 4 1/2 total.  :]

We had our first 'fast food' meal while being on the diet.  We had Arby's - Both ordered a Medium Roast Beef with no bun, this is 3 oz - then we shared the roast beef from a Junior which is 1.5.  It was so good!

Here is a recipe that I used for dinner.  It was so good it didn't even feel like diet food.  Enjoy!

Crockpot Chicken or Beef
You can cook several pounds of chicken or beef for convenience

2 pounds chicken/beef
4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1/2 onion, chopped (I used a red one since they are 'free)
4 stocks of celery
garlic powder, onion powder, basial, paprika, rosemary, parsley, salt and pepper to taste.  (About a teaspoon to a table spoon each)
Enough water to cover everything in the crockpot.

This makes 8 servings - the easiest thing to do is divide them up into ziplock bags then you have a quick meal or an easy lunch at the office.  You can also save back the remainder of the broth for other meals that you do.

Sharing the Diet

I have been getting a lot of questions about Tom and I's new diet.  I thought that the best way to share our story was through a blog.  I have never done a blog before so forgive me if I am going about this wrong.

Let's start with the diet -  The diet is the HCG diet (Dr. Simeons' diet - here is a link to all the info on the actual HCG - http://www.hcgdiet.com/abouthcg.html), we are doing the diet through our chiropractor office but I found the same drops that we are using on eBay for around $40 bucks.

Tom weight starting was 255.5 and mine was 170.4.  We are now on day 8.  The first two days are 'load days' so I don't really count them on the weight lose days.  We are on day 6 on the very low calorie diet. ( I will abbreviate this VLCD#6)  Tom is now at 247.6 and I am at 164.4

We are no longer hungry throughout the day and my headaches have gone away, they lasted about the first 5 days.  Tom was complaining of muscle pains today and is going to start potassium tomorrow.
